ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Must be committed to providing and promoting a safe work environment;
- Communicate with Superintendent, Municipality inspectors, and Project Managers as to the daily job specifications;
- Ability to follow directions;
- Perform tasks with excavators, dozers, skid steers and other heavy equipment associated with grading operations.
- Understands and interprets drawings, specifications and construction stakes as required to build project to the engineered design;
- Manage crew and employees to safely, efficiently, accurately complete projects while promoting growth and the development of assigned employees; and
- Ability to perform the essential job functions and perform other duties as assigned. We do not have operating only positions; all employees are expected to do whatever work is required as a team to get the job done.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- The job requires the following motions: standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching and squatting;
- Operate machines with or without GPS;
- Requires regular lifting of or more than 25 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds;
- Walking and standing may require a full day of 9 to 12 hours;
- Will be exposed to sometimes extreme hot and cold temperatures; and
- Jobs requires riding to and from projects in various locations within our geographic region;
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public always;
- Report to work at the designated start time;
- Be able to work long hours when required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of proven experience in the field as a successful grade foreman.;
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check;
- Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document;
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook;
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required;
- Be at least age 21 years of age;
- Have a valid NC Drivers License with a good driving record;
