Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grading Superintendent to lead and oversee grading operations on active construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, with a focus on grading and site work, and a proven ability to manage crews, equipment, and schedules to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to spec.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate grading crews and subcontractors on-site.
  • Read and interpret civil construction plans, site grading plans, and specifications.
  • Ensure grading work is performed in compliance with project design and quality standards.
  • Manage daily scheduling of equipment, materials, and personnel.
  • Monitor and maintain jobsite safety, enforce company safety policies, and conduct daily safety briefings.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and inspectors.
  • Track progress, manage timelines, and report on production and job status.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and provide real-time solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in grading or earthwork construction, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of grading equipment, GPS machine control systems, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, grading plans, and survey layouts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred).
